Supplementary Texts: on reserve in Grainger Library.
Prerequisite:
PHYS 212, MATH 342, and credit or registration in PHYS 214.

Grading:
1) Four one-hour exams (22.5% each).
2) Homework
(10%).
There will be ~10 problem
sets. No late homework will be accepted.
One lowest HW grade will be dropped.
NOTE: For
each HW, you may work in groups of 2 or you may choose to work independently.
No more than 2 people can be in a group – any more than 2 will receive an
automatic zero for that assignment. If
you work in a group of 2, only 1 HW needs to be turned in with both students’
names on the front page. Everyone is
responsible for all materials covered.
